In any professional club there is a special place known as the boot room. What is the boot room? Well, it has many functions, from where the team’s boots are cleaned, to all the latest chatter that relates to the game and the club. In their hey day, Liverpool’s coaching staff often met in the team's boot room with a cup of tea, to discuss team tactics and player performance. This became so legendary they eventually were named the Anfield boot room staff!
The idea behind this section of the club is to give coaches, players, and parents a chance to stay current with today’s coaching trends. The topics will vary but the main source of info will be for our coaching staff and players to further develop their knowledge of the game. We will be featuring interviews with top coaches, using video demonstrations and also coaching software by TactFoot.
In the next 12 months, the Magic will become one of the forerunners in player development in the Lehigh Valley. Our development model will be holistic in nature and focus on some very specific areas. With player-centered coaching we aim to make every experience a positive one and one that maximizes the player’s potential. Here are some of the things we can expect in the next 12 months;
----- Provide a set amount of technical training per week.
----- Staff to be screened and undergo regular in-service training.
----- To be able to play within a possession system.
----- Provide detailed curriculum for each age group.
----- Develop U6-U8 Training program
