KEVIN DOLAN

Kevin Dolan enters his first season as an assistant soccer coach with Lafayette. Dolan joins the Leopards following a four-year playing career at Amherst College and boasts a year of international soccer experience.

Dolan was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Amherst where he was a member of the NESCAC All-Sportsman and All-Academic teams during his career. He graduated from Amherst in 2008 with a degree in History.

He spent the next year in Monaco working with AS Monaco FC while also serving as the head soccer coach at the University of Monaco. With AS Monaco, Dolan functioned as residential supervisor and English teacher. As the head coach as the University of Monaco, he planned and led all weekly training sessions and the club earned a promotion to Group A of the French Football Association during Dolan's tenure.

Upon returning from Monaco, Dolan spent the month of July as a liaison with the United States Soccer Federation at the USSF Finals week in Los Angeles, Calif.

In addition to his soccer career at Amherst, Dolan was a four-year member (2000-04) of the Massachusetts USYSA Region I ODP state and regional teams and spent one year (2000-01) with the National Team.

MACIEK SLIWINSKI

Maciej Sliwinski enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Lafayette men's soccer program. Sliwinski, who joins the Leopards after a two-year stint with the St. John's coaching staff, will work primarily with the goalies while also assuming other coaching duties.

Sliwinski spent the previous two seasons as an assistant at St. John's where he assisted with various aspects of the program, including recruiting, team preparation, camps and alumni communications. He worked under head coach Dr. Dave Masur, the 2008 Big East Coach of the Year, and with Marc Reeves, who was named the NSCAA East Regional College Assistant Coach of the Year.

In 2008, the Red Storm earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the national semifinals en route to an overall record of 19-3-3.

While at St. John's, Sliwinski earned his Master's Degree in Sport Management in May, 2009.

Sliwinski, a native of Poland, enjoyed a four-year playing career at Iona where he was a two-time captain and was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team all four years. He graduated in 2007 with a degree in Finance. During his time at Iona, Sliwinski interned with the New York Red Bulls of MLS where he was responsible for team operations and game preparation.

In January, 2009, he was also appointed the Director of Coaching with the Brooklyn Italians where he in charge of the coaching staff and education programs.

JENNY POLAK

Jenny Polak was a four year member of the Lafayette College women’s soccer team.  She appeared in 49 games and started 26. In her final season in 2008, Polak was a starter in the back four and earned the Players’ Player of the Year Award. 

A multiple Lafayette Academic and Patriot League honor roll student athlete, Polak earned dual degrees in Anthropol ogy & Sociology and Philosophy.  She has experience as a counselor for both Lafayette College and the University of Pennsylvania women’s soccer camps. As a youth player, Polak was a member of the Pennsylvania Strikers, ENCO, and Olympic Development Program and was selected twice all state in high school. Currently, Polak is the head junior varsity coach at Moravian Academy for both the girls and boys’ teams. Polak plans to pursue further education in the near future and to attain a Masters of Sports Management and Leadership.

CARL PRINCE

A native of Manchester, England - Carl Prince has been coaching youth soccer in the United States for 5 years, originally with the Somerset Hills Soccer club in Basking Ridge, NJ. Carl moved into collegiate coaching as an assistant to Tom McLoughlin at Fairleigh Dickinson University (Madison, NJ) in 2007.

Having played for the prestigious Collyhurst & Moston soccer club alongside future EPL star Wes Brown (Man Utd), Carl was selected to attend one of only 7 high schools in the UK to be awarded sports college status for promising athletes as a promising three sport athlete in Soccer, Cricket & Rugby & at the age of 11 went on to represent North of England catholics in soccer & his county (Lancashire) in cricket, Carl was a member of the Morecambe academy for Soccer until the age of 16. Carl also spent a short spell with Red Star Saint-Ouen in Paris. Still an active player, Carl captained the winning New Jersey State soccer champions in 2007.

Carl gained his first English FA coaching certificate at the age of 16 & now holds a UEFA B level certification as well as being licenced by the USSF. Carl also holds the ACE & Crossfit certifications in Athlete training.

Prince, 28 has been an active trainer within LV Magic since March of '08 & led the U15 girls to a 17-1-3 record in all competitions in the Spring of 2009.

TYLER PAPAZ

YOUTH SOCCER & HIGH SCHOOL

Tyler started playing soccer at about age 4 in Ringwood, NJ which is in Passaic County.  He was one of two sophomores on the Varsity team at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey NJ.  At Don Bosco, Tyler was a three year starter and named captain in his senior year of high school. His high school team was ranked top 5 in the country during his senior season. Tyler was all-league, all-county and all-state in that year.

COLLEGE

Tyler attended Lafayette College and became a Leopard as Division 1 soccer player.   He played both striker and outside midfielder. These positions suited him best based on his speed and more importantly, an eye on the goal.  Due to his versatility, Tyler was called on to play outside back on occasion.

AFTER GRADUATION

Upon graduation, Tyler has concentrated most of his time on his career as a Financial Advisor for Metlife.  He has trained various boys and girls LV Magic team for five consecutive years.  Tyler also plays on a winter and summer men's league team.  He considers himself a student of the game.   Tyler was in Germany cheering on the US in 2006 and he will be in South Africa in 2010 doing the same thing.
 

 

RICK JONES

HIGH SCHOOL

  • Played 4 years at Bangor Area High School
  • Defensive MVP senior year, Colonial League honorable mention, Captain 2 years
  • Gatorade athlete of the week award

COLLEGE

  • 2 years starting sweeper at Indiana Institute of Technology with captain 2nd year (Fort Wayne, IN)
  • 1 year starting stopper at Thomas University (Thomasville, GA)
  • Started every game in college except for one due to injury

SEMI PRO

  • Player for the Atlanta Silverbacks USL Premier Development League team in 2007
  • Started 1 preseason game before major injury
  • Workouts with the PA Stoners

COACHING/TRAINING

  • Part of the Lehigh Valley Magic program for 2 seasons (fall and spring)
  • U12 spring, now the U10 and U13 Boys teams
  • 2nd year head coach at Bangor Middle School Boys team
  • 2nd year Assistant Bangor Varsity & JV programs (Keepers and defense specialty)
  • 2009 playing in adult fall league for lvyl

EDUCATION 

  • Went 2 years to Indiana for Sports Management and Psychology earning my associates in psychology       
  • Went 1 year to Thomas Univ. for Psychology
  • Planning on going back to finish up
